As many of you are aware, there are several states that are trying to make it illegal for an auto manufacturer to sell its cars directly to consumers, forcing them to use the antiquated dealer network that was established nearly a century ago.
While Tesla can battle state by state to create direct to consumer pipelines, that is a long, expensive, and unnecessary battle. Many have written how they see the current attempts by legislators and auto dealers to intercede on Tesla’s plans as an infringement on interstate commerce. I agree.
Below is a link to a petition that you can sign online that will indicate to our elected officials at a national level that we want a level playing field for all auto sales. Let’s not restrict how cars can be sold, that protects dealers, not consumers. Please join me in signing the petition.
